Sparrow framelock front flipper

These framelock front flippers exist currently as customs only with mid-techs coming in the next few months. Every detail has been thought out and worked through over the past couple of years so the final product is incredible.

Pricing on the customs is generally $1700-3k, mid-techs run $900+, and I’m currently working on a production version with Reate that will retail at around $350!

The customs are mostly completely done by hand (except for limited internal milling on the scales, lock insert, and backspacer) and features PB washers w/ a pivot bushing.

The mid-techs will have milled frames & components, and hand ground blades.

This model has the following features & specs (although there is some variation between the customs and mid-techs):

  • Overall Length: ~7 3/8″
  • Blade length: ~3.16″
  • Blade stock thickness: ~.120″
  • Weight: ~3 oz (weight relief pockets incorporated inside frame)
  • Handle Thickness (not including clip): ~.400″
  • Blade Steel: Bohler M390 @61-62rc or Vanax SuperClean @ 59-60rc
  • Ground thin at .010-.015″ thick at 15 dps
  • Ti scales and all hardware
  • Scales are fully contoured and chamfered for comfort
  • Hardened steel lock insert w/ integrated overtravel stop
  • Recessed/Hidden lanyard hole integrated into the backspacer

Ember fixed blade lineup

These fixed blades come in 3 different sizes (2.5″ blade length, 3.0″ blade length, and 3.5″ blade length) and two shapes (drop point and sheepsfoot). Please check out the pics and videos below!

Ember 2.5

This is a small pocketable fixed blade. As always I grind my blades thin so it has high cutting ability and is super comfortable for such a small blade. Scales are generally sculpted micarta although I am playing around with different materials and even liners so stay tuned!

These have went through a few changes over the years and are now what I would consider to be dialed in perfectly. The choil has been changed so there is absolutely no snagging, a swedge has been added, and the handle thickness is spot on.

Pricing on these is generally $335 (w/ kydex sheath).

The Ember 2.5 has the following features & specs:

  • OAL ~ 6.125″
  • Stock Thickness ~.125″
  • Blade grind: Flat
  • Blade length: ~2.5″
  • Weight: ~2 oz
  • Steel type: varies
  • Ground to less than .010″ thick behind the edge, at 15 dps
  • Skeletonized tang for proper balance and weight reduction
  • Removable scales
  • Comes w/ Kydex sheath that is compatible w/ the small Tek-Lok (.5″ hole spacing)

Ember 3.0

This is the mid-sized version of my Ember fixed blade. It is ground thin (and the Sheepsfoot w/ the full flat grind specifically is the ultimate slicer!) and comes in two blade configurations (drop point and sheepsfoot). Scale material is varied but all have the sculpted texture.

Pricing on these is generally $365 (w/ kydex sheath).

The Ember 2.5 has the following features & specs:

  • OAL ~ 6.725″
  • Stock Thickness ~.125″
  • Blade grind: Flat
  • Blade length: ~3.0″
  • Weight: ~2.6 oz
  • Steel Type: varies
  • Ground to less than .010″ thick behind the edge, at 15 dps
  • Skeletonized tang for proper balance and weight reduction
  • Removable scales
  • Comes w/ Kydex sheath that is compatible w/ the Large Tek-Lok (.75″ hole spacing)

Ember 3.5

This is the largest version of the Ember and, as the name implies, it has a 3.5″ blade length. This size is more of one you would want to carry on your belt.

Pricing on these is generally $385 (w/ kydex sheath).

The Ember 3.5 has the following features & specs:

  • OAL ~ 7.75″
  • Stock Thickness ~.145-.150″
  • Blade length: ~3.5″
  • Steel type: varies
  • Weight: ~3.5 oz
  • Ground to .010″-.015″ thick behind the edge, at 15 dps
  • Skeletonized tang for proper balance and weight reduction
  • Removable scales
  • Comes w/ Kydex sheath that is compatible w/ the large Tek-Lok (.75″ hole spacing)

Q Fixed Blade

The Q is our current largest fixed blade. It’s for heavy duty/hard use chores such as chopping and batonning. It is extremely comfortable and generally I use steels such as Cruwear or Magnacut for the combination of toughness and edge retention both steels carry.

Pricing on these is generally $470 (w/ kydex sheath).

The Q has the following features & specs:

  • ~ 10″ OAL
  • ~ 4.75″ blade length
  • .230″ stock thickness
  • ~11 oz weight
  • Steel: CPM Cruwear @ 63rc by Peters
  • Scale material: canvas micarta
  • Blade finish: flats will retain the rolled finish from the mill and are etched then buffed – some are lighter, some darker in appearance.
  • Grind is hand ground at 120 grit.
  • Edge angle: 15 dps w/ a 20 dps microbevel
